About Sofia Encinas
Sofia Encinas is a very talented emotionally creative designer. Showing her creativity through the repurposing (up cycle) all types of clothing and fabric. She has expressed her talent through the design and crafting of wedding dresses, party dresses, formal dresses, ballet outfits and costumes, to name a few. She found her real passion through the creation of new clothing items from old clothes she had laying around. When she got introduced to crocheting, she immediately combined it with repurposing.
Sofia Encinas was a successful Managing Assistant with a fortune 500 company, but alway had a passion for design. With this company, she had opportunity to go to Europe and assist with the production of a clothing catalog. She immediately fell in love with the fashion industry and upon her return decided to pursue her passion.
Being a single mother, and knowing how difficult it is to be a mother and build your own business, she felt a special need to help others with similar lifestyles. Inspired, she started Old Cloths New Trends (OCNT). OCNT allowed Sofia to be able to hire stay-at-home mothers, teach them a new craft and in turn create beautifully artistic clothing and accessories.
With this unique business plan Sofia has been able to help additional families around the world, including small towns in the beautiful mountainside of Jalisco, Mexico. Bringing a new sense of hope and prosperity to everybody involved.
